Milford Sound

The day after my dad, Donna, my uncle and I finished the Kepler Track we drove to Milford Sound. Before the hike we booked a cruise and kayaking. The drive from Te Anau to Milford is about two hours. It rained most of the drive and we could see snow on most of the high peaks. Since it was raining the waterfalls were really flowing which was amazing to see. The drive was really beautiful with all the waterfalls and snow capped peaks.

Looking Forward

Do you have something you are looking forward to?

My dad, his ladyfriend Donna and my uncle are coming to visit in April!! I'm so excited!

I haven't seen my dad in a year and half and I can't wait give him a hug and just hung out with him. As excited as I am I think he might be more excited. Weeks ago he emailed an Excle spreadsheet detailing plans for the trip and he already knows exactly what he will be packing. (He isn't coming till April!)

We are going to do the Kepler Track which is a four day hike near by Queenstown. It is suppose to a really nice hike and have amazing views. The track has huts you stay in along the way which should be different and neat.
This will be us...
Donna and my dad have already lined up all the activities they want to do like the canyon swing, bungy jumping, a jet boat ride, paragliding and day trips to Dunedin and Milford Sound. They are only going to be here for two weeks so we really have to pack in the fun.

My mom mentioned the other day that something she learned in a sociology of tourism class in college. She said that the best part of vacations are planning them and the memories you have to after. The actually vacation doesn't even have to be good, it's mostly the excitement of planning and the stories you have after. I guess that could probably be true but I think it's going to be a pretty amazing stay-cation for me and awesome vacation for my dad, Donna and my uncle. Their visit is definitely what I am looking forward to the most right now!
